Ms Gan Zy Lei graduated with LLB from University of Northumbria, United Kingdom in 2009. She completed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2010 and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2011.

Ms Gan Zy Lei completed her pupilage with Messrs Koo Chin Nam & Co in Kuala Lumpur and upon completion of her pupilage, she joined Messrs Fong Yap & Gan as a legal Assistant. In February 2022, she joined Benjamin Tan & Co as a partner, and later in August 2022, she became a partner at LILEE CHAMBERS.
